Pyramid Tree card

Today - I'm sharing a Pyramid card featuring last months Creative Cafe' kit stamp set.

I made this card with (3) 4" square pieces- but the fun part is you can use any size you want as long as they are all the same. My mass production set was made with 3" square pieces. One 12 x 12 pc of cardstock or Patterned paper will give you 4 cards.

Here's a look at my finished Pyramid card, using 4" squares- You can see it all the details here!

Here's another set - I made and gave for a bunch of my croppin' buddies!- These are also based on 4" squares.  I used a large brad to hook my left flap behind, and covered with a 5/8" scallop punched circle.   These were a base of Kraft cardstock, and I covered each triangle section with patterned paper from "My Mind's Eye" holiday line.

Finally these are my Christmas card mailings - I also gave a small group of these away to my fellow team members at work.   I just love how they all look standing together!

Here's a view of the inside as well...

Creative Cafe Dec kit of the month - Wish Big!

Hi Everyone!

This December kit of the month for the Creative Cafe' - has definitely been fun - and I know you're going to love all the projects and cards the team have been preparing to share with you!

Today - I'm going to share a couple of quick fun tutorials. My card is using the 'Wiper' Card technique which pops up an image or message but lays flat for easy mailing. On the front, I've made a 'faux' Pinwheel that I thought perfect for the front of my card so just had to share that with you as well. So grab your beverage of choice and we'll get started!

Here's a look at my card - as it stands when opened.

And when pushed flat... you can see it will fit nicely in an envelope.

To see more details and a tutorial on how to make the card base and the 'faux' pinwheel head over to the Rubber Cafe' blog here!

Creative Cafe'-Kit of the month - featuring 2 Treat boxes turtorial for the Rubber Cafe'!

Hi Everyone! Are you feeling that crisp feeling of fall in the air yet? Even in Southern Cal -we're finally starting to get a little of that - especially once the sun goes down! I love this time of year no matter what part of the country I'm living in- but I do miss those wonderful fall colors I grew up with in the midwest!

Today 's project again features all the yummy products included in our October Kit of the month - Fall Harvest!   My project is a little different in that I'm going to showcase 2 - 3" square boxes I made from 1 sheet of 8 1/2" cardstock! I found this wonderful video from Sam Donald  a Stampin' Up demo in the UK - I also step it out for you in my post on  The Rubber Cafe' here!

Here's my 2 boxes- I finished them each a bit differently but they're perfect for putting in some small gift tags, candy goodies, small soap or anything you come up with!

Creative Cafe' Kit of the Month - Fall Harvest Radient card and Tag Tutorial

Here we are at the end of the first week! How are you enjoying the cards and tags we've shared so far? Well we have more for you which will continue on throughout the month - so stay tuned!

Today I'm going to share with you another paper piecing technique, I have done this before but cut my pieces rather by feel than by measurement. When I saw this more measured and precise approach, (I can't remember where unfortunately) I decided to give it a try.

The Rubber Cafe'-Creative Cafe Kit - Best Witches Distressed!

Hi Everyone! Today I'm back to share with you another card made with the Creative Cafe' Kit of the Month - Best Witches.
If you're just tuning in for the first time, The Rubber Cafe' just launched our first kit this month from our new Creative Cafe' Kit Club, and the Design team has been busy preparing cards and tags to share with you. Bonus tutorials are available in these posts and will be available to print - so be sure to get in and order your kit today!

Today's card is a fun technique using distress inks to create the background of my card. I have done this before but usually use watercolor paper - as it can best handle the water and ink that you are hitting it without breaking down. However I'm using the yellow cardstock from the kit and I chose to do this as it's a nice heavy wt cardstock so really can handle this process. And I love what the yellow coming through did with the ink!

For more pics and a tutorial on how I made this card-check out the Blog here!

Citrus Greetings and Amazing folds with The Rubber Cafe'!

Hello and Happy Monday!

Here's a post I've shared over at The Rubber Cafe' today -

I've had this Fruit Medley set for awhile and I'm finally getting a chance to play around with it, and having fun coming up with some 'alternative' ways to show off these fun fruity images and greetings!

First,  I have another swing card, like the one I shared with you on the 4th of July!  I told you this card fold was addicting!  This time I've used a new bicycle die I just bought along with the orange slices and 'Knock, Knock' sentiments.

I used my window punch from Stampin'UP! to cut out the fun Knock! Knock! questions and answers.  On the flip side I rolled some paper roses to put into my bike basket.

Next up - I created a fun Lemon-aide stand that is also a fun amazing fold, as well as a gift card.  I cut the card base and the base of the cart using my Cameo diecut machine, but this card base is much like a step card fold and could just as easily be scored and cut by using your trimmer and /or ScorePal.

The awning is punched again using my Window punch from Stampin'UP!- and the wheel is a lemon slice, and I stamped the "Happy Birthday" phrase- and placed it in the side step on the left hand side.  I wish I'd pushed it up a little higher, as I was photographing this card I noticed it was getting covered a bit from the wheel.

Here's a closer look...

Here's a close-up view of the side you can see the front of the card is like the first step and the side panels become the second step.

Behind the front step, there is a place for a gift card.  Pull on the 1/2 lemon slice and there it is!  I've included the "Just a little something..." phrase also from the Fruit Medley set.

Here's one more look.  I finished it off at the bottom with some grass I punched, and Red/White bakers' twine finishes off the top!  I love baker's twine, and I seem to find someplace for it in most every card I make these days!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a wonderful week!

More Patriotic Fun!

Happy fourth of July Everyone!!

Today over at the The Rubber Cafe' blog, I'm sharing a couple more cards with a Patriotic feel!
First I've made a card playing around with the star from Ornamental Holiday stamps and Bo Bunny's Red, White and Blue paper pads.

I stamped a '4' on a flag pennant and accented with a silver sequence star.

My First Swing card! I really love these, and are really adicting! I've seen many tutorials but Beate John's is the easiest to follow here it's also a video so you can play it back as you're making your cuts and folds.
For this one I created my card with a rectangle for my swing shape - it worked perfectly with the Framed Flag stamped image.

Swing it open and reveal the other side and a sentiment!
There's no wrong side to this kind of card! All of my sentiments came from the Remember the Moments set.

Again featuring my Bo Bunny 6 x 6 pad, this 'Swing' card was really fun and simple to make and once you've mastered one, I know you'll want to make another and another...!
Thanks for stopping by have a safe and happy 4th of July!
