The Rubber CAfe' -Egg-stra-special Easter Tree!

Hi Everyone!  Wow the Easter season really came up fast this year!  Over on the Rubber Cafe' blog I have one more project I thought I'd share, using our Easter Eggs set and our special On the Fence Die!

I lost some clarity it looks like when I sized these down for the blog, so I apologize for that but I think this could be a sweet centerpiece for any table!

There's more details here on my blog post today at the The Rubber Cafe'!

Fun St Patrick's Day Projects and Gifts!

Hi Everyone!

Just last weekend I was up on Mt Palomar, CA - at the Bailey's Palomar Resort - where I joined 8 of my favorite creative and wonderful friends on a get-away weekend of stamping, scrapbooking and all around creative fun!

I've been up there so many times - I didn't take many pics this time, but did capture this one picture as we were 'blessed' with almost a foot of snow during our stay on the mountain!  Another amazing thing about this is we are probably only about 50 miles north and east of North San Diego County!

Growing up in the Midwest - means I'm not new to snow, but this was probably the wetest and densest snow I've ever seen!  Later, I found out just before we were leaving that it was so heavy it had brought down quite a few green trees in the area, from all the weight of the snow.  There was blue sky peaking through at the time I took this photo early afternoon on Friday but I didn't get it in this photo-  still very beautiful to see all that untouched snow!

Well onto my projects!  I wanted to bring up some goodies to share so first I have these hand-sewn wool felt Shamrocks I made for everyone's door.  To personalize them, I just diecut a tag out of chalkboard paper and used my Uni-ball gel white pen to write their names.  I like to use real chalk on this paper but given the size of the tag, I was having trouble writing small and clearly enough so switched to my gel pen which worked perfectly!

This is a group of them I took just before leaving... the others were already packed in their bags! (I'm forever forgetting to take pics of my projects before giving them away!)

And here's a closer look....

Yes! I made one for myself too... I didn't want to be left out! They looked so cute on everyone's door.

Here's a look at them hanging on a door, (lighting was not as good here...) I used the round paper clips and just wove it into the back of the felt for easy hanging.  A double circle wire paper clip is holding the tag onto the shamrock - I just wove the other end around and in between a couple of buttons to secure.  There was no glue in the making of this project- just handsewing!   I thought I had taken a pic of the backs because I used a cute houndstooth plaid wool felt in green and grey on the back but it must not have turned out... oh well it made them just  too cute!

Next up - everyone got a goodie jar filled with white embellishments - crocheted flowers, satin roses, a White Signa Gel pen, a few metal bottle caps, ect.... and Peppermint Patti candies of course!

As you can see these too were personalized, and the cute lids and straws holding each flag I found at a local store called Paper Tales!  I bought every lid they had, and was glad I had just enough for this group.  The straws are made of paper in green and white stripe, and could be used in the lid on a jar as I did or set directly on the table w/o.  I found the perfect Ball Jar size at Joann's so they made a perfect finish for this project.
I diecut the pennant flags with a Sizzix Bigz die made for Stampin'UP!  I added a scalloped half circle cut from Chalkboard paper, so I could personalize each of them with their name. This time I did use chalk to write their names.
Again, I forgot to get a photo of them all together and filled before I set them on the tables so I just pulled a few together and got this picture.

I'm going to end this post with a wonderful pic of us all together!  This is compliments of Tanya Wilson, we were able to get Vandy Bailey to take this for us so she could be in this group picture too!
This was taken on Saturday afternoon- we're freezing but smiling!  I think it is a perfect reflection of our weekend together!

Tim's 12 Tags of 2013- March

So Today I have made 2 tags inspired by the Tim's 12 Tags of 2013 - for March.  I made one that follows Tim's tag, and another using products from The Rubber Cafe' - and more of my own creation.

Here's a full view of my tag using The Rubber Cafe' stamps

The paper for these are based on the Holiday Paper pad from Ranger- there are large 12 x 12 pages, and 6 x 6 size pages.   The other fun technique is using the tinsel trim wrapped and layered, colored with Alchohol markers, and than melted a bit with the heat gun.

Stamping the Easter Eggs set on Kraft - I colored them in one color each using Copic markers.  I diecut from Tim's Holkday paper 2 ovals using my Spellbinders Classic Ovals set,  to look like decorated eggs.  Layered over it I cut a banner and stamped one of the Easter sentiments also from the Easter Eggs set.

Here's a closeup of my other Tim Tag TRC style with view of those wonderful Easter Eggs!

I cut my own grass - layered in 3 rows, each was stamped with the Grass with Flowers stamp which really added some dimension to the grass when I cut the blades.

This whole tag is built on a Prima Tag pad that I cut the bottom off and created a pocket that the pictorial eggs and bunny are tucked into.  I just love the warmth the Kraft paper gives these otherwise pastel tags!

I had some more paper left  - so made this cute little Star book that worked perfect with the 2" x 3" sections!
 Here is the cover....

Some inside pages...

Hope you enjoy the rest of your week!

The Rubber Cafe' - Those Moments When...

Hi ! I've been sorting through my Spellbinder Dies and re-discovered some that I have not used in awhile. I found they are a perfect companion to my Rubber Cafe' Tree Silhouette stamp and our On the Fence die.

I thought this card could be used for Sympathy, Friendship, or any type of encouragement. They are the ones I never seem to have enough of. For more details - check out The Rubber Cafe' blog here!.

Thanks for stopping by!
